I bought a small Mersman table that needs some work on the finish. The table itself is very sturdy and there's no broken or damaged wood. There are some places that look like there's no finish at all. The stain is kind of a dark mahogany. I want to refinish the whole table so that the finish will look uniform, but I just don't know what kind of stripper to use. I need help.

The traditional methylene chloride strippers in a semi-paste work well. Zinsser makes a friendly semi-paste stipper that is getting good press. No fumes, just takes longer.
