Hello all. Well several months now since the deck was built but with all the rain in SFLA I have been unable to stain. I will be staining the deck using a SW semi transparent stain, not sure if to use Oil Based or water based? Also since this will be for pressure treated wood, do I need to do anything to the deck besides give it a good cleaning a couple of days before? Do I need to use any type of product to open up pours on the wood to absorb the stain like the cleaners at home improvement stores or just stain as is? Any info appreciated. Thanks

As long as the deck is clean and dry you should be good to go.
I don't think SWP has any latex stains other than the solid stain. They do have semi-transparent in both oil base and waterborne. I prefer the waterborne because it cleans up with water :D Either one should do a good job.
The folks at SWP should be able to give you plenty of info about the product and it's application. They are also apt to have info that is specific to your locale.
Just realized you are in fla - be sure to ask about adding extra mildewcide unless your deck is in the sun the majority of the day.
