Looking to install a laundry chute from upstairs bathroom to downstairs. Lines up, but not sure if there is enough room, it is just a single wall seperating bathroom and childs bedroom. Can this work or should i be thinking about installing it in the floor of the bathroom?? Please help, pulling my hair out.
Thank you

Welcome to the forums!

Luandry chutes are usually designed into the floor plan. To add one later you have to allow room for it. It won't fit in the wall cavity, it's only 3.5"

If there is an adjacent closet that you can use a corner of, that would probably be the best bet.

Just a thought - a lot of inspectors in our area no longer allow laundry chutes due to the fire hazard as they allow flames to quickly travel between levels of a house. Certainly most people never have to worry about this but just something to consider.
