I want to install a 22 in. deep (stock size) vanity top on a vanity that will only accomodate a 21 1/2 top without being in the way of the door closing. Can I recess 1/2 in. of the back of the vanity top into the 1/2 in. drywall? That wouldn't make the pre-drilled faucet holes too far back would it. I can't really saw 1/2 in. of granite off the back of the counter. Thanks for any info.

Hi DH- Try calling a stone store in your area. Ask how much they would charge to trim your vanity top. If you haven't purchased the top yet, visit a stone store. My guess is that you can get a good price and get it custom cut that way you would avoid a potential problem with faucet fit.

No I haven't bought it yet. I just thought a custom cut one would be outrageous, but it wouldn't hurt to find out. Thanks for your response. DH
