Hi everyone-

We recently bought a new stove, which replace one of those combination models that had a range and stove on the bottom, connected to an upper oven, all in one piece... hence, now, we have a wonderful opportunity to put in a nice tile backsplash.

However, being a "creative type", I want to be able to create more than one and swap them now and then.

Please disregard the horribly superimposed range hood ;)

I'm supposing I'm going to work on some backing board, but am unsure how to create something removable that will hang right.

The height is about 21" to the bottom of the range hood I'll be installing, and it's 30" in width, cabinet-to-cabinet, so I'll probably have to go in 1/2" or so on each side.

Any suggestions appreciated!

Thanks,
Andrew

i'd try some 3/4" plywood with some 1/4" backer board screwed to it. then tile to the backer board and i think i'd grout it with siliconized grout if you're going to be moving it alot. you could use a few clips on the outside to hold it in place.

Someone did what the former poster said with a tile countertop in our house and it's pretty durable.

Welcome to the DoItYourself.com forums Turner.:)

What about using something that's not tile? Not that I think it's a bad idea, but I had to chime in b/c I thought you took a pic of my stove! :D Here's what I did when I got my stove:

It's cheap and removable and not gluing involved. Just screws if I remember correctly.
