The ceramic tile in my bathroom is coming up in some places. It's that real small 1950's gray tiles. We would like to re-tile with 12x12 tiles. Can we just put the new tiles over the old ones? Do we need to remove the old tiles first? Or put down something (wood??) over the old tiles? Clueless! Thanks!

The fact that you say the tile is "coming up in some places" pretty much dictates that you cant tile over the old tile with new tile. Remove the old tile and tell us what you have under there. Then we can advise you on what youll need to do.:)
