Hey all,
My mother-in law (great lady) gave us her 4 or 5 year-old 36" Toshiba model 36HF73 CRT HDTV. I then signed up for HD from Comcast.
When I watch some of the Comcast "HD" channels, using either of the two component video inputs on the TV, in certain situations the picture distorts frequently, anywhere between every 5 or 10 seconds to virtually non-stop, in sort of a flickering "Ghosting" appearance.
Now for the odd circumstances:
This seems to happen only when I'm watching live sports, like a football or baseball game. It only happens on some camera shots and not others. If they show a replay of a shot that was distorted on the live shot, the replay will be fine. It seems to occur only on some channels - The NBC affiliate and the Comcast Sports channel are the worst. Other channels don't have any problem. Again, these are the alternative HD channels. If I switch the TV input to the coax connection, there is no problem on any channel.
If it was a problem with the TV, I would think it would be consistent. My best guess is that maybe it's a problem with the new HD cable box Comcast gave me? I should probably call them.
Anyone seen this before? Thanks for any ideas anyone may have.
