I have a 3 year old cheapy Whirlpool washer (looks to be direct drive, I do not see a belt) it makes a loud humming noise on wash cycle & the spin cycle, it will not agitate or spin but it does pump out the water. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Chances are you need a motor coupling that connects the motor to the transmission. A broken motor coupling causes the exact symptoms you are experiencing.
