Our electric Maytag dryer keeps giving off an strange odor that smells almost like fish . . . the clothes don't smell fishy going in or coming out of the dryer, but the odor lingers around the dryer and in the utility room. We've had the repair man out twice and they can't find anything. It's especially noticeable when the dryer gets really warm. I know it sounds strange, but no one can figure out what the problem is.

It was the fuse in the electrical panel box (in the same room with the dryer) that was overheating, putting off this "fishy" smell whenever the dryer ran. Fuse has been replaced and all is well!
