Hello--I need help. I just discovered that a container of chlorine bleach that I kept in the wood cabinet under the sink has failed. The bleach seeped through the container, spread around, and basically ruined the bottom of the cabinet. There's a large hole in the cabinet base directly under the damaged container, and there's dried bleach spread in other areas of this cabinet too. I'm not sure how long it's been like this--perhaps a few weeks. I discovered it this mmorning as I went under the sink to clean and reorganize. Everything's dry. There's no smell. I removed the bottle and scraped off what I could, but it still looks horrendous. And it seems dangerous too. The hose that connects the water supply to the dishwasher seems to have gotten a bit corroded from this and I'm suspecting this will have to be replaced. I also suspect that I cannot wet this area at all or even glue anything on top of it to cover it without provoking a chemical reaction. Can anyone tell me how to repair this damage?

Welcome to the forums Jackie

IMO the easist way to fix this would be to sand off what you can of the damaged area and then prime and paint the bottom of the cabinet.
