I have a question about what to do with white cloth blinds that are now dingy from cigarette smoke. They were expensive and I can't afford to replace them. I would love for them to be white again. I know they are way past just cleaning them. Would fabric paint be a good idea? I'm not sure how to use fabric paint. I have also thought of just spray painting them. Is there anyone out there that would know what to do? Thank you!

Short of washing it, I don't know of any way to get rid of the staining. Maybe a dry cleaner could help? I honestly don't know if the fabric paint would work, may make it too stiff if you paint the entire shade, but if you leave them stationary, then it may work.

gently hand wash them in your bath tub with a cleaner like oxyclean..
Then give them a soak in clean water + the appropriate amount of bleach.
then rinse them with just plain water, let most of the water drip off and then rehang them wet..
this is the best shot ya got.
