The freezer part of my Kenmore unit keeps icing up. I have the technical ability but no refrigerator knowledge. Can someone tell me how to proceed to hopefully fix?

Thanks.

Sounds like a defrost problem. You will have to take the back off inside the freezer section to get at coils. There is either a glass tube heater or a metal heater toward the bottom of coils that might be bad. There also is a thermostat clipped onto the top of coils that might be causing the problem. If they both check ok, you have to find the defrost timer. Could be located behind front kick plate, behind bottom panel by the compressor, or inside fresh food section close to the temp. controls.
