Does anybody have any information about the company, xxxxxxxxxxxx.com? I've seen their signs claiming to buy "ugly houses." I've visited their website and it is clear in their intent. I'm just wondering if it is a legitmate option for a person who in thinking about selling a property quickly.
I live in a condo that needs some repairs. It is becoming finanically draining and I'm tired. I'm looking for a way to cut my losses and get out as soon as possible. Of course, I'll probably feel differently in an hour (I doubt it). I'm just looking for some alternatives to conventional home sales.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I have looked into similar "Ugly House" buying companies before to unload rentals. I passed on them due to the fact that they would only pay a fraction of what I wanted and that was way below market. I have talked to others who had no choice but to sell and it worked out for them to just get out from under their money pit.
One word of caution is that unless you know the ins and outs of selling properties get a lawyer or pay a Realtor to do the transaction for you so all your t's are crossed and i's are dotted.

I'll second all of that.
They're looking for cheap cheap cheap buys to flip. Some are legit, some aren't. Be very careful, document everything and choose your own closing agent and appraiser if possible to be sure everything goes ok and legally. Some of these people are scammers. They may have a closing agent and an appraiser working with them to manipulate numbers and timing to their advantage. Others are just looking for good buys to work on and sell properly. Be sure of who you are working with.

All true, it's usually scammers just wanting to make $ by paying you next to nothing. Just take your time and do the necessary 'must' repairs to keep place functioning ok. Don't be impatient because right now with all the available housing on the market from the foreclosures, what's the chances of selling yours?? In a number? of years, the housing mess will settle down and you'll have fixed up the place enough to sell if your lucky. Go buy Ric Edelman's book New Rules of Money, and read why you should NEVER buy a townhome
or condo. Great financial advice.
