Hi all,
I'm in the process of installing some blinds, and I ran into a little speedbump. Our windows apparently have some sort of metal flashing on the interior sill.
If I were to drill through the flashing to install the blinds, would it damage the integrity of the flashing at all? Would I be looking at a high risk of water damage? What type of drill would do the job to punch a hole through the metal?
Thanks!

Is the sill and the casing around the window covered with aluminum on the interior? If so, it has nothing to do with the exterior and you can install the blinds.

Thanks for the response. Actually, I have no idea if it's part of the exterior or not. I apologize for my lack of knowledge, but I'm brand new to home improvements.
That said, it appears the old blinds' brackets were screwed in through the top of the sill as well, so hopefully I should be OK with it.
