I have a 6 mo. old Kenmore Elite refrig that has an icemaker in the door. In the last 5 days, it has been making ice that tastes similar to sour milk. The water from the frig doesn't taste poor.
The water filter is a Pur II and showed it needed to be changed about 2 months ago. I did not change the filter, only pulled it out and put it back. The light now shows that it does not need to be changed.
At any rate the ice tastes terrible.
Any help would be appreciated.

I would replace the filter for starters; removing & reinstalling the filter merely reset the light. It's possible something else is going on, but a new filter would be a good first step in troubleshooting.

I was afraid you would say that. I'll give it a whirl...
Thanks

Pretty easy to replace, isn't it - top of the fridge section? We have an Elite, but don't use the water or ice functions because of our well water; we use a table top icemaker instead that we fill with bottled H20.
