First of all, is this website getting bigger and bigger or is it me? Anyway, my sterling silver neck chain is severely tarnished, due, I'm told, to my spraying cologne on it (I won't do that anymore; promise). Even my jeweller wasn't able to get it right, though he says his magnetic (?) jewelry cleaner thing wasn't working, and offered me to leave it for him to bring to a colleagues machine. In the meantime, any magic secret formulas out there?:gmorning:

Try a good silver polish with tarnish resistance.

Glass pan
Salt
Baking soda
Aluminum foil
Wrap chain loosely in foil, shiny side out. Place in glass pan and add salt and baking soda. Fill with water above level of foil. Heat gently on stove. Aluminum is more active and salt/baking soda catalyze the reaction so tarnish moves from silver to foil.
