I am remodeling my kitchen sink and countertop. I removed the old alum. trim and added new formica and sink. As the old trim was destroyed during removal due to corrosion and age, I have been looking for new aluminum trim. Lowes and Home Depot do not stock this type trim. Help!! Any ideas where I could obtain this trim?

You can Google for aluminum countertop trim. One site is http://www.extrude-a-trim.com/pages/assorted_fixture_trims.asp

I cant remember the last time I saw aluminum trim on a countertop. My parents had it as I remember and that was some 40 years ago. Actually, they had it over the fromt edge , between the splash and the deck and on all exposed edges of the backsplash. They even had a Huddee Ring aound the sink. Thanks for the memories.
PS I had a countertop shop for almost 20 years, and never had a customer request aluminum trim. Where are you using it ?

There seems to be a renewed demand for the metal countertop trim as some are decorating with a retro theme. As I recall counters with that type of trim, it was a place for moisture and gunk to get trapped. I had two people in 10 years ask about it. I did a new vanity top for a lady who wanted to reuse her blue bowl with the Huddee ring.

Are you ever right about gunk. I remember when the old top was taken out. You would think my mother never cleaned, there must have been 8 lbs of grease under and around the metal.
But even that wasn't as bad as the ugly red formica. whew! Am I glad we saw the last of that.

Our kitchen table was red Formica. Mom kept it covered with a vinyl tablecloth.

Ours was some sort of white with gold starbursts almost a ugly as the red formica.
