hi,
this may sound like a stupid question but are integrated appliances like fridges and washing machines etc... plugged into normal plug sockets or do they have to have special sockets/boxes??
I know the cooker needs a seperate switch but i'm unsure about other appliances
Thanks :)

What is an "integrated" appliance? Your kitchen must have two circuits, both protected with GFCI breakers or outlets. All your kitchen appliances will plug into them. The refrigerator will have a circuit of its own. The receptacles that are fed through, like on the countertop will be 15 amp receptacles. The dedicated receptacles for the refrigerator and washing machine will be 20 amp receptacles, since no other receptacle will be fed from it. What kind of "cooker" are you referring to. If this is a new house, you should let an electrician figure all your loads. Kinda fill us in on what you are planning so we can help you further, and give good descriptions of what you are plugging in to them.
