I've recently purchased a home that came equipped with a 27" drop in Range that i am replacing with a 30" slide in. I've taken down the cabinets that were above the range to open the kitchen to the dining room, and I've come to the conclusion that I can safely remove the center cabinet (of 3) that housed the drop-in and then relocate the right cabinet over a couple of inches to accomodate the new wider slide in. Does anyone have any suggestions for me? I've allready ripped out the old range, and cabinetry around it, thus freeing the end cabinet that needs to be moved over.
These cabinets do not back up to a wall so I think all I need to do is, replace the back board (3/4"X10"x7') that ran the span of the cabinets previously with a longer board across the opening for the range at the top of the cabintes and another peice across the bottom then attach the paneling in the rear and cut and place new kickplate in the front... I have new countertops being installed once I have my cabinetry finished so I have no concerns with that.....
Am I missing anything?

Sounds good to me. You can purchase a finished skin to match from a cabinet retailer for the back of your cabinets or you can stain and finish a piece of plywood. You can also make new toekick covers out of plywood. You will want to leave a 30" gap for the new stove. And, do not order the countertops until you have the final measurements. What about the rangehood?

Rangehood is going to be a new stainless& glass island mount I may have to move it's opening a smidge too, althought I doubt I will not so sure how much room for "play" I have since I haven't purchased the hood yet, I'm thinking this one (http://www.overstock.com/Home-Garden/Cavaliere-Euro-30-inch-Island-Mount-Range-Hood/2589618/product.html)
will look great in the space. if this image doesn't show up clicking the link should bring it up.

Should have mentioned we intend to paint the new panel to match the "under chair rail" wall color in the dining room I figure that should look ok.... and then I don't have to worry about the stain not matching the rest of the cabinets.

Awesome rangehood! And, painting the panel is a good idea.
With a range in a peninsula, many build a knee wall to which they attach cabinets. That way they can have a backsplash. Some also like to add an overhang for bar seating at the raised bar if there is room. The raised knee wall also camouflages the backsplash on slide-in ranges.

We're having the OPverhang for bar-seating and the slide in range done'st have a baclsplash, it has front controls so it will end up looking like a cooktop from the dining room side...
