our newly installed shower is leaking out the sides (overspray) due to the oval shape of the tub. is the crescent rod the way to go? no experience with them whatsoever. any particular things i should look for when purchasing/installing. many, many thanks.

Make sure the attachment brackets allow for abberitions in the wall angle. They should be loose enough to change angle a little bit. Remember, they will be set inside the vertical outer perimeter of the tub. Hope this helps.

I put a crescent shower rod in my basement bathroom because it gives you extra room. The standard 74-inch shower curtain barely covers the edges so you could shift your problem from having it leak out the sides to having it leak out of the bottom. Try a few dry runs with the curtain in place before you decide on how far in to anchor the shower rod.
