Hi,
What's the best/proper type of adhensive to use when installing an undermount sink. There are supports and screws to attach the sink to the bottom of the countertop but I assume I still need to seal it?

Thanks.

What type of countertop are you installing it to? If it's stainless steel under a granite top, use silicone. Wash with denatured alcohol first and be sure it's dry.

It's a china bowl that's to be mounted to a "Corian" type countertop.

OK. Silicone is still the best sealant/adhesive. If you can, mount it with the top face down on sawhorses. Clean both surfaces with alcohol. Locate the fasteners around the bowl. When dry put a bead of silicone around the perimeter of the bowl to set the bowl into. Put the silicone toward the outside of the rim so it doesn't squeeze out inside the bowl. Tighten down the fasteners. After a half hour or so turn the top over and set in place. Now the tricky part. Using a new tube of silicone cut the tip square, not angled. Apply it by pushing a small bead of silicone ahead of the tip. This forces it into the groove and smoothes it at the same time. Check around the perimeter to make sure the groove is full (voids will appear black). If any voids are there go over the area again, then clean by spraying alcohol over the area, then smooth with your finger. Use paper towels saturated with alcohol to do the final cleanup.
