Hi I was mopping my floor one day and while I had my back turned my little girl decided to "clean" her carpet too. She sneakily grabbed the lysol and poured in onto the burgundy carpet in her room. It's not a huge spot, maybe an 8x10 in. section. I tried soaking it up with a towel and scrubbing it with tide (all i had at the time I thought might work, it didn't) well now it has dried, the spot is really stiff and slightly darker than what it should be. Does anyone know what I can do to get it out, the spot has been there for a few days so it maybe set it. It was lysol lemon scented mopping solution. Any advice is GREATLY appreciated. Right now we're renting and I really don't want to have to pay to replace the carpet in our house when we move out. Also if anyone knows how to get craft paint off a wall :wall: .......I have very destructive children lol. Let me know that as well.
Thanks in advance

Removing the soap and the soil it is attracting would require a machine. DIY rental machines, while tempting to try will most likely not do the trick. By the time you get the machine and cleaning solutions you will have around 100 bucks invested in it and that may not work. I would advise talking to your landlord to see if they have a professional cleaner they use or talk to them about suggestions.
The paint on the wall can also be a bit tricky...if the paint is flat and a latex it may not clean well...the craft paint if its latex paint anything you use to remove it will most likely remove the wall paint. You can try rubbing alcohol and see how that works. If its a big area priming and painting may be needed.

I agree with hiring a pro on the carpet. As to the paint, some of the stuff my daughter uses is surprisingly water soluble, so I'd try a damp rag, but scrub very little. If that doesn't do it, you'll have to cover the area with a sealing primer and repaint.
