Doors and Windows - anyone know of a sliding storm door?

I have a very tight space at my back door entry, which leads to the driveway to the right, and the patio to the left. The current storm door opens for easy access to/from the driveway, but requires some dance steps to get to/from the patio. I had planned to replace it with a door hinged on the other side, as the patio is a destination more likely to have my hands full. My father suggested a sliding door, which, at first, sounded crazy, as I've never seen one (we're talking about a 32" inch opening here, not your typical 6 foot or so sliding patio door opening). Were it available, it would actually be the best solution, but, at least at the big-box stores, it doesn't exist. Anyone?

The only thing I have seen are the retractable screens which roll up into a keeper on one side of the opening, but as far as a sliding storm door, others may have, but not me.

I've seen those too, but I think the cat would wreak havok on it (your avatar has me thinking you might be a cat person...though mine could give the mistaken impression I'm a dog lover). The sliding door seems like it would be a good idea, but I couldn't picture how it might both seal the opening against insects, and slide out of the way.

Odd that you would mention cats. I installed one of those retractable screens for a client, against my advise, and as soon as it was installed, I closed it and the cat walked through the bottom. The bottom of the screen is not held in, but rather runs in a feathered channel, so containment isn't it's forte, and she wasn't pleased. Ces la vie!
