My washing machine filled up when I turned it on, but then nothing happened. It doesn't start washing after the tub fills. Pushing in the on-off switch and pulling it back on does nothing.

What could be the problem here?

Check your lid switch(es) inside the console. There are two screws that you remove on top and the front of the console pulls towards you. Make sure power is disconnected first though.

Thanks, I went out of town after I posted this question. I'll check the switches in the morning.

That did the trick! This has an old style lid switch, no fuse, with a push in button on the side of it that comes out when the lid is open. The switch was actually fine. I had to reset the screw which keeps the button pushed in when the lid is down so the button was pushed in a little further. You saved me a $75 - $100 service call with parts I didn't need. Thanks for the advice!
