I have a brick fireplace which is painted a creamy, slightly yellow color. The mantel is a solid piece of medium tea color stone. The hearth is large, irregularly shaped, medium tea colored stones, with some yellowish, browns and beige variations. The painted brick looks very flat so I would like to soften or age it. My local paint store told me to use a glaze and add some 'cracks' with a darker glaze. He kept telling me it was very easy, but couldn't give me detailed instructions. I've done some research but most info available on using glaze seems to be for flat walls.
Any ideas for using glaze on painted brick? Or suggestions for other faux techniques? All suggestions and/or ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks,
MW
