I have a fiberglass shower base that is bedded in mortar. I would like to support the base better. Has anyone used expanding foam (the type in a can) to fill the void between the shower base and the floor?

??? If bedded in mortar, how much better can the support get??? Foam can disintegrate over time.

If the mortar bed was providing adequate support I probably wouldn't have asked the question.

Anyone else have an opiniopn on using expanding foam to provide additional support?
