I'm installing a new whirlpool tub. How do i make it watertight around the rim of the tub...I'm going to install a ceramic tub surround...There is no nailing flange for this tub....How do I caulk between the tub and cement board to prevent leaking behind the tub?.....Thanks

You will want to use a flexible caulk, and silicone is probably the best. It doesn't take alot to seal the joint. You can find color coordinated silicones to match or coordinate with your tile or grout.

check with the manufacturer or distributor - some have add-on tiling flanges that are designed to work with certain models. This was the case with some of the MAAX tubs. The add on tiling flange is not as nice as the integral tiling flange, but is preferable to relying on a caulk joint, I would think.
