I have a steel entry door that is 79" inchs tall and I need to cut it to 77 1/2 inches. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to do this? I've called a few places but they won't touch it.

Basic info. Why do you need to cut it down? (Looking for other options). Is your frame already that size? You can do it, but it will take alot of work. Take into consideration the bottom framing and seal which is part of the bottom of the door. Cutting the door with a circular saw and a metal cutting blade will do the job. It will get hot, so be careful and don't let the saw sit in one spot too long. Make a clear, clean cut. Clamp the door to a solid surface so it won't wiggle with you. You may have to replace the wooden under-structure inside the door as well as the seal, so be prepared.

What Chandler said. Cutting the door is not the hard part, there are lots of methods to cut steel. The hard part is finishing the cut so it is water and rust proof.
