My sons house has about 2 ft overhang and the floor gets very cold, with a wind (pipes freeze). What would be the best way of sealing it up.Do I need vents on the underside(bottom) of overhang. He has siding on the whole wall. So to get to the area (overhanging beams, there is no ply wood in this area) I need to take apart the siding thats there. Is it possible to take out the J channels,to slide out the plastic siding thats there(just nailed to beams).

Find where the siding installation was finished. Start removing at this point. Add insulation to the affected area and reapply the siding.
