I have a door that is very weather'd from the sun and water
it has slight cracks in the grain, i finally have it stripped and sanded but was wondering if I should use putty in all the cracks or just go ahead and use polyurathane over it. any suggestions will be helpfull thank you

Was the door previously stained? will you restain?

The weather cracks shouldn't be overly noticable after 3 coats of spar urathane - sanding between coats.

Veneer is very thin - sand carefully, as it's easy to sand right through it.
