It was made between 1987-89 and unless you're doing it for the fun of it, NO way. From my experience(which is nil) first separate the case, take out the crank and main bearings and seals, remove rod cap, out fall the bearings(33 not 32 OMC literature says there is 33, 17 one side 16 the other).
Have a good one. geo

Geo is correct, this is a complete engine disassembly. And you must replace the rod bearings as they will fall apart upon disassembly. You'll also want a complete gasket and seal set.

flirty, if you have a F series lawnboy engine that needs rings it has a gazillion hours on it or was truely mistreated OMC made an amazingly tough 2-cycle so if it needs rings it will need all the other innards also. Have a good one. Geo

so is there anything else that will cause low compression 55 PSI. will have to pull the engine to remove the muffler. what HP is this engine do you know.

My lookup doesn't indicate the horsepower but I believe that it is 4 to 5 horse. The other area of concern for such low compression is the cylinder.
