Hi, My little one decided to get into the tub without completely cleaning himself after going to the bathroom. Needless to say, there's a stain on the rubber tub mat where he sat down. I've tried everything I know of to remove it, and it's faded but still there. This is the second mat I've had this happen to. I hate to toss it because it's brand new.
Any solutions to remove the stain completely? Thank you.:o

a protein spotter that you can get at local pet supplies may help. Im a bit puzzled why it just wouldnt wash off thou. Just a typical rubber non=skid mat?

Rubber is porous and can absorb stains that don't come out. I'd try bleaching it in the sun for a couple days. Beyond that, might not come out.

Yes, just a typical rubber non-skid bathtub mat, extra long, (and extra money) which is why I hate to ditch it. The stain hadn't been there long. I think 'mitch17' might be right about the mat being porous. I'll try both suggestions and let you know if either tip works.
Thanks to both of you for suggestions. :)

Toss in washer with load of towels and BIZ (powdered enzyme digester cleaner) and let soak. Complete the cycle and remove mat to air dry.
If stain remains, apply enzyme digester cleaner to stain and keep wet with cleaner to see if cleaner will digest the organic stain. Enzyme digester cleaners are sold at pet stores for pet messes and are marketed under a variety of names such as Out, OdoBan, Nature's Miracle and others. With children in the home, an enzyme digester cleaner comes in handy for cleaning up their many organic accidents.
