I am thinking of re-doing the shingles on my house, and went searching for a coil nailer for the shingles.

I found that de-walt seems to have a coil nailer that runs around 140 175 dollars, brand new.

This seems to be pretty cheap for such an item but its been awhile since I priced them, but I do not think that long.

Question is, is there anything wrong with tese De-Walt nailers are they cheap do they jam up or break easy or are they not dependable please help me in this I do not want to buy junk. Can you recommend a good brand / Thanks

On the seldom occasion that I get up on a roof I use my Bostitch nailer. Good service so far.

All my nail guns are Porter-Cable, but the DeWalt tools I do have are all good.

I know that DeWalt is a good name brand tool I just cannot figure why a DeWalt coil nailer, that is for roofing nails, is so much cheaper than Bosticth which usually run an easy hundred dollars more.

The DeWalt nailer that I am talking about is brand new. Not used. I looked at them on the bay. Thanks for your help, but I still do not know what to think about the cheapness of these DeWalt air nailers. I don't want to buy one, then have an I told you so pop up.

I bought an inexpensive coil nailer through Harbor Freight. It's a Central Pneumatic. I paid $100. Came in a nice blow molded case. I used it to re-roof my garage. Worked real well and I don't regret buying it.

I'm not saying that it's equal to a Bostich or similar brand but I'm very happy with it. I wouldn't doubt that it will work for quite a number of years. I wouldn't use it if I was going to be roofing houses professionally but it works fine for what I've used it for.

I reroofed my home with a Porter Cable. It did a great job.
I would say buy a name brand for a large job. Clean it after each days use and at the end of the job and then sell it at the end of the job.
You might check some of your used tool dealers. Many contractors have sold off extra tools during the slump in building.
