Hey Guys -

I just wondered if anyone else out there has run across this.

I have a 38" patio screen door that needs replacing...but no one seems to stock them. I've even asked at some of the big box stores and no one seems to be able to find them. The patio door is original to the house and is about 30 years old.

Any suggestions??

The screen likely measures 38", but the door is actually 36". A screen to fit 36" is a stock item in most places, but since I hate big box stores, go to a lumber yard where they understand such things.

No such stock size....you'll need one made to order. Look in the yellow pages under "Screens, Door & Window".

Really?? Nobody makes this size anymore?

Making something custom for a 30 year old door seems a little silly.

Just Bill reminded me that some original screen doors have an interlock to mate with an interlock on the glass door that is close to the edge of the glass. Take a look and take a measurement from the jamb on the handle side of the door to about 1/2" passed the edge of the glass door and it might be 36".
