We've had all this work done on our house, new hardwood floors, new ceilings, new paint in and out and now, all of the sudden, my front door is awful. I can not lock or unlock the deadbolt without pulling up on the door. I have to actually lift the door straight up just a bit to get the bolt to fit into the hole.

It could be from a number of things including a change in the humidity running the dehumidifier but shouldn't that make it easier, not harder?

I was just going to drill out the hole that the deadbolt slides into, making the hole bigger and lower but thought I better check here to see if there was some other fix.

What would make the door sag lower like this and should I be making an adjustment where the pins hold the door somehow? Thanks in advance for any help or ideas you might have!

Your door is probably sagging slightly on the latch side- perhaps because no one put 3" long screws through the hinges into the studs. Remove one of the screws from your top hinge (preferably one of the ones closest to the weatherstripping) and replace it with a 3" long screw. When you tighten the screw down you should notice that it will make your deadbolt work better.
