Hello
We're in the process of remodelling the kitchen of our 1966 Minnesota rambler. The walls in the kitchen were a bit cold this past winter (We moved in last February), so I ripped the sheetrock off of the walls to see what we had. As I suspected, there was lots of nesting, mouse feces, and mouse skeletons, fur..... oh, and the dried up remains of an albino squirrel in an interior closet wall that I removed. That wall was adjacent to an open soffit. I installed weather stripping around the garage door as soon as we moved in, set some traps up in the attic, and have seen no evidence of rodent activity since we moved in.
At the ends of the walls, where the 2X4s of the outside wall meet the 2X4s of the interior walls, I can see that there is no insulation, and it is not possible to shove any in there as the void is boxed in by the studs that I can see, and the on the other side by the siding. Is there any type of spray-in foam that I can get that comes out in larger volumes than "great stuff"? I drilled a one inch hole 10 inches up from the floor, emptied an entire can (which took a while) and didn't make a dent in filling the void.
Any other tips on insulating would be appreciated.

You can buy the expanding foam in larger quantities. They sell them in 2 containers that look similar to propane tanks that connect through a hose. Do some research on it first though, I've heard of people blowing the drywall off the studs because of the expansion of the foam.
Unfortunately, I don't have any recommendations on where to buy it - it was a long time ago that I used it, and to be honest, don't even recall the brand name.
Good luck though!

Have a look at this air sealing tool on http://www.energyfederation.org/consumer/default.php/cPath/21_28_606
I've never used it but i did buy and use the pur fill foam found again on this site. When you use the required foam gun its not a one use can and really works great
