Replaced wire-in smoke alarm with new 120V AC wire-in with battery back up. When circuit breaker turned back on had momentary power to alarm and then nothing, battery functioning.

Check your connections. It sounds like a loose connection at your wire nuts for the power.

Did you replace just the detector or the plug in the fixture to which it is attached as well?

I missed a break in one of the wires. Cut, strip and rewired everthing now fine. Appreciate your help!
