I am building a deck and want to attach it to the house with ledger boards under the bi fold door ledge and window ledge.
This would go through the bricks and into the floor slab.
Is this a good idea and what should I use to do this. Dyna bolts 1/2" ?

Why not just make the deck free-standing?? The bricks (assuming that you are talking about red clay bricks or similar) are simply nothing that you can anchor to. You have to drill through them and get to the concrete. And the concrete that you are talking about is a slab. There's no way that you can get to the back side of it and thru-bolt any thing. You COULD epoxy the bolts into the slab, once you've drilled thru the bricks and about 6" or 8" into the slab, but the bolts are going to have to be 12" to 15" long in order to do that. The only 1/2" "bolt" you can readily find at that length is all-thread. And that is going to make for one weak connection. A free-standing deck, properly done, will be stronger!!
