I recently searched for a cure for an orange pop stain, with some disapointment. I decided to experiment with a couple of things. Although, not all of these stains may not come out completely, I found a recipe that certainly fades them. Hydrogen peroxide applied first, wait about 5 minutes then apply a good amount of white distilled vinegar. Let it sit for a while, I am seeing results beore my very eyes!

Hydrogen peroxide is an oxygenating bleach. Although not as strong as its cousin chlorine bleach, it can have ill effects on unstable dyes. Always test cleaners first in inconspicuous areas first for ill effects. Most colored drinks contain dyes. For dye stains on carpet, it is best to contact a professional as they have special chemicals and use heat to remove dye. Although there are DIY formulas available (Red Out and others), most DIY carpet dye stain removal methods tend to be less than satisfactory. Too, older stains, stains that have been cleaned with improper cleaners, can be impossible to remove.
