New carburetor is Tecumseh part number 631985A and lists for around $65 and the rebuild kit is part number 631893 for around $10.

some more info I found out. its a sears 9 inch edger trimmer model 536.85625. about how old is this edger. Now you say the engine is a tecumseh but according to sears its a lauson. now like said the engine overheats and seams to run fast with no choke and will not stay running. so would a carb kit solve that or is the engine shot.tired adjusting the carb no go. Upgraded fuel line as the old one was a metal pipe with rubber around it and was missing most of the rubber.now by overheating I mean smoke was coming out of the blower houseing after it stalled

It's a tecumseh (tecumseh-lauson). It sounds like a carb kit would help, but it may not fix the entire series of symptoms you describe.
