I've got two 4x4 mirrors that were glue onto the drywall by the builders that I need to remove. Most of the posts here talk about ways to break up the mirror, but occasionally someone throws out using wire, fish line, string, etc. I have seen wire saws, but only 24" long, and I need 4' or so. Has anyone used fish line or something like that successfully? I'd really like not to have to cut it into pieces or break it up, just so that I don't have to worry about cleaning it up. Any suggestions greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Being in the mirror business I tried piano wire that was used to cut through the adhesive in windshields. I was never successful. We literally pryed with wood wedges and pulled with suction cups to remove mirrors from walls. I doubt if fishing line will work.

You can expect damage to dry wall and repairs. Wear safety glasses and cover things that could be damaged by falling glass.
Some report luck cutting through adhesive blobs with piano wire. Some heat mirror and pry with putty knife. Expect mirror to break or fall at any time.
Some report success covering entire mirror with duct tape and then smashing with hammer and pulling and prying off mirror a section at a time.
