I bought a house with an existing vista15p and 6150 keypad to which I have the installer code. I've also ordered, but not yet received, a 6270 touchscreen.
Since the system categorizes and addresses AUI devices separately from keypad devices, I'm curious as to whether I'll have full programming access from the 6270?
Also, since I currently have only a fixed keypad, will I have problems adding the AUI to the system?

It's very difficult programming using the 6270. You will have better luck with a two line alpha keypad like the 6160. If you could get your hands on one (borrowing), you could program it all in.

You can use the 6270 in console mode to fully access programming. The big issue that I am aware of, is that it does have a bit of lag time compared to the regular alpha keypad. But it will work, just read over your instruction manual. There are a few small differences that can trip you up.
