OK, I am trying to fix my lawn mower... the connecting rod shattered into a thousand peices so I replaced it... The motor is a 14.5 B&S I/C ....Everything went as planned And I have the motor back in it. Here is my problem...The engine wont crank over with the spark plug in it. If I pull the plug I can crank it just fine.. It seems the motor wont turn when the piston is building up pressure any ideas would be greatly appretiated

Sounds to me like the valve clearances are too lose or the compression release mechanism was damaged when the rod came apart and isn't functioning (common occurrence when a rod breaks).
