Hi!
I plan to install jatoba wood floors on the 2nd floor and 3rd floor of my very old (meaning well ventalated) and not airconditioned home.
I am debating installing solid (3 1/4 inch wide/3/4 inch thick) vs. engineered floors. I have forced air heating with a humidifier for winter - but don't have air conditioning/dehumidifier for the summer months (and it gets very hot and humid).
Should I consider engineered jatoba to minimize and shifts or warping cause by tempuratures and humidity? How unstable is this wood. My husband really wants to go with solid (he thinks engineered is "real" wood floors). But, I am concerned that engineered might be the better choice given the climate.
What do you think?
