Have a trans central heat and air model number ycc030f1m0aa. Has been performing fine but after a power outage caused by thunderstorm hasn't been able to cool house as it usually does. Cool air comes from vent but not the cold air it used to put out. System runs all day. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

This happend for the first time?
Have you gone out to check the outdoor fan to see if it's running and the compressor?
Checked to see if you have clear air path around the unit?
I don't recall if there is a service door where you can open, and feel the lines from the compressor.
Is the cooling coil clean?

Is it a "Dual Stage" unit?
Sounds like it is running on stage 1 whsich is intended to maintain temp. Since your lightning hit there or nearby your temp may have climbed too high for the stage 1 to obtain desired temp.
If all of this is the case then something has happened to the control circuit of your system and it is not signalling stage 2 cool mode

Yes it is a gas/electric package. It sounds as it always has. Everything seems to be running as usual but it is only putting out slightly cool air. It responds to the indoor thermostat. The indoor temp is currently 83 and if you turn the thermostat up past 83 the Air Conditioner will shut down. There is a removable panel in front of the machine underneath a small vent. If you remove this panel you see a on/off switch. Currently it is set to on with the on facing you.

Really have no idea how old this unit is. Have lived in house for the last 7 years and it came with the house. Yes it is a package gas/electric unit and the compressor dose seem to run. At least sound wise it sounds as always plus the fan is also running. However there is a small vent above the service door on front of the system with a warning message the the vent will be hot. The vent is not hot. Should it be? Also if you remove the small front service door you will see a switch with the words on/off of top of it. Currently it is set to ON (with the ON facing you). There is a few other small pipes behind the service door but offer no means to adjust or remove them.

Did a lightning stike cause power to go out for even a short bit in your house?
Have you shut off the unit at all since the problem began? Or, if the compressor went off momentarily, then right back on again, this may have screwed up the pressures inside. It be good to shut unit off for a bit and turn back on a little later to see if any improvement.
Is it also hot and humid where you are, or at least when all this happened? I know that refrgerators that are 'on the cusp' (like a little low on freon) also seem to fail when it is hot and humid. And then can start working better again, once the weather cools off.
