Has anyone found a decent product that I can use to tint the colour of my fireplace brick? The house was built in the 1920's and the fireplace is made of gawd awful yellow/brown brick... I like the shape and everything, I just can't stand the brick colour. I've nosed around the forums and I've seen posts saying that you can tint the brick, I'm just wondering if anyone's done it and if so what they used and how it turned out.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Don't know about "tint" but you can paint it. I had red brick fireplace and wanted to change the color b/c that was the easiest and cheapest method I could think of. Anyway, I'm not sure if there are paint products for fireplaces in big box stores but I used this product called Brick-Anew.
Basically, you clean your fireplace as instructed. There's a base coat sealer, 3 undertone colors and a glaze. So...you don't get that "flat" one color look. It's really not a lot of work.
I got the red brick to be a light grey/cream color. It really looks better than I thought it would.

Interesting.
I was thinking along the lines of a wash or something with a redish hue to it...
Anyone else got anything?
