I just moved into a new house and discovered that one toilet (on the 3rd floor in the Master Bath) is not flushing well. About half of the water & waste drains but the rest swirls around the bowl. Last night I did some vigorous plunging and it seemed to fix the problem - I tested it, got 5 perfect flushes, and declared victory. However, this morning the problem reappeared.
I had bought a Fluidmaster repair kit thinking perhaps its was flapper problem, but I'm wondering, since the plunging had appeared to fix it last night, that maybe there's an obstruction in the vent stack.
Thoughts?
