Has anyone serviced their own front forks on a 1993 Honda Shadow VT1100, or one similar?

I have the service manual, but wanted to ask someone who has actually done it first. Do you always have to replace the seals?? Is there any danger of screwing up? Any better sites to go to for such advice?

Do a little web search. There are forums for most things, including your bike. I tend to hang on a VTX-1300 forum when not here.
