I have a moen faucet in my shower and this evening i cut the show off, but water kept coming out of the shower head for some reason, I cut it off and back on again and same problem. I heard that moens have a lifetime warranty, but not sure. Trying to determine if its something in the actualy faucet or in the shower head. I unscrewed the showerhead and every thing looks fine there. showerhead is only about a year old also. any ideas what the problem is?

If it constantly leaks then you will have to change the faucet guts. You can try E-mailing Moen and tell them whats going on and your model #. They might send you out new guts, no questions asked.

if you call 1-800-buy-moen they will send you a new cartridge free of charge as long as you are the original owner of the shower valve. does the shower vavle have only one handle? if yes, do you turn it to the right to turn the water on or pull the handle out? you'll need to know what vavle you have in order to get the correct cartridge.

not sure of the model number, but it is the one where it is facing down and you just turn it left to right for the shower to come on. and yes it just pours water out constantly. maybe i can describe to moen what the deal is.

sounds like you got it figured out. what you have, if they didn't tell you over the phone, is the new style of moen shower vavle. the valve is what they call a "positemp" valve and is a pressure and temperature balancing valve. and just for your info, in my price guide at work, that cartridge is about 75 bucks. it should come with a small set of instructions and is very easy to replace. just post up if you need some help.
