Does anyone know what type of handshake/kissoff is used by a central monitoring station for the Moose z1100 System 2? Can this be emulated by a standard telephone modem (ie like the old style Hayes compatible modem)? Perhaps someone knows a software program that emulates a central monitoring receiver with software and such a modem.
For my application I do not require professional monitoring of this system but would like to be notified via cellphone anytime the system is alarming or disarmed. I have programmed it to call my cell as the primary number but because it does not get the handshake/kissoff it trips a communication failure error. This older model lacks a pager function and I could not find a way in the programming to ignore, disable, or shunt this communication failure error (maybe someone reading this knows a way).
So! My plan is to have it call my cell phone then utilize the secondary number function (backup call) to call a line in my home (via a special ring) and get the handshake/kissoff it requires to be happy. Thanks in advance for any information or ideas

You would be better off and would save yourself alot of trouble, if you upgraded to a panel that supports dialing a pager or cell phone.

No, there is no workaround that will let you use the built in dialer to call a cell phone without the comm error.
The most that I could suggest is the trick a few people have reported of recording the tones from a communication session between an alarm and a central station receiver and playing those back.
For what it's worth, the "kiss off" tone is either 1400hz or 2300hz on the most common formats compatible with this panel. but it's not a simple tone. There are multiple tones involved.
